Running Jot+ Notes from a portable device

This topic covers running Jot+ Notes from various portable devices and media, such as USB thumbdrives and CD-ROM's.

In general, King Stairs Software does not recommend trying to run its applications from portable media, for the following reasons:

  1. Certain features (such as Automation) may require the application to be registered with Windows during installation; this information would be available on another computer.
  2. User configuration settings are stored on the local computer, and may not be available on another computer.
  3. Licensing information is not generally portable between computers - the license would need to be installed on each machine.
  4. The application's End-User License Agreement may restrict use on multiple computers. See also: Using Jot+ Notes on Two Machines.

Some King Stairs Software applications, such as Jot+ Viewer, are designed with portable media in mind and can be successfully used installed on them.
