Running Jot+ Notes from a portable device
This topic covers running Jot+ Notes from various portable devices and media, such as USB thumbdrives and CD-ROM's.
In general, King Stairs Software does not recommend trying to run its applications from portable media, for the following reasons:
- Certain features (such as Automation) may require the application to be registered with Windows during installation; this information would be available on another computer.
- User configuration settings are stored on the local computer, and may not be available on another computer.
- Licensing information is not generally portable between computers - the license would need to be installed on each machine.
- The application's End-User License Agreement may restrict use on multiple computers. See also: Using Jot+ Notes on Two Machines.
Some King Stairs Software applications, such as Jot+ Viewer, are designed with portable media in mind and can be successfully used installed on them.
