Year 2000

King Stairs Software products are millennium-compliant for the following reasons:

Most King Stairs Software products do not use dates at all, so are automatically compliant.
When dates are used, they are stored internally in a serial format which is not dependent on a year.
The current date/time is retrieved from the operating system directly.
When dates are printed or displayed, the users locale settings for date/time formatting are used, which should be millennium-compliant already. Where a products provides a choice of date formats for display, millennium-compliant choices are included.

Operating System

This statement assumes that the underlying operating system is millennium-compliant; the OS may require a service pack to attain compliance. Listed below are the various Windows releases and their requirements for Year 2000 compliance; for a definitive statement for your Windows release, please consult Microsoft.

Windows 2000, XP, Me: These platforms should be fully Year 2000 compliant.
Windows NT 4.0: Requires Service Pack 3 + Year 2000 patches
Windows 98, 98 SE: Requires Year 2000 patches
Windows 95: Requires OSR2 + Year 2000 patches
Windows NT 3.x: Not supported at all
Windows 3.x: No longer officially supported; no Year 2000 guarantees will be given
Win32s: Not supported at all

Product Compliance

Generally, only the most current release of a particular product will be tested for millennium compliance.

Jot+ Notes 2.4.0 (and later): Jot+ Notes is fully compliant.
myTasks: myTasks is fully compliant.
Jot Cardfile 1.31: Jot Cardfile will not be tested.
PaperSelect: PaperSelect does not use dates at all; fully compliant.
KS Calendar 1.40: KS Calendar is fully compliant.
HexHelper: HexHelper does not use dates at all; fully compliant.
