Printer and Display Drivers

The printer and display drivers are extremely important to the smooth running of any Windows system, and should be kept up-to-date with updates from the hardware manufacturer.

The importance of current drivers cannot be emphasised enough. From a the support side, it has been found that many reported software problems are in fact driver-related, and an updated driver fixed the problem immediately.

There are other benefits to keeping drivers current:

New functionality - driver updates may introduce new features to make better use of the hardware.
Performance - some driver updates can significantly enhance performance, improving the whole system.
Compatibility - some drivers may have problems with certain software, which may be resolved in a later release.

Driver updates are usually available from the manufacturer's website, and are invariably free of charge - just download and install.
