(405) Notefiles in Briefcase cannot be edited

Files in the top-level Briefcase folder will be opened in read-only mode.

Workaround: Place the files in a sub-folder which is not read-only.

(406) Notefiles opening as read-only

If a notefile is located in a folder that is read-only, then Jot+ will open that notefile as read-only. This is frequently seen under Windows XP, where the My Documents folder is read-only. This problem arises because Microsoft doesn't treat read-only folders as read-only...

(407) No font effects in font dialogs

The font dialogs displayed by File|Page Setup and Tools|Options do not include the effects area (color, strikeout, underline), which prevents these from being included.

Notefiles containing Cyrillic characters will not export correctly to HTML.

(415) Word export of cyrillic text fails

I am a registered user of Jot+ Notes 2.5.4, and I also use Jot+ Convert 1.3.0. I use the program to create a glossary in English and Russian, which looks great both on screen and on paper: the Cyrillic is rendered flawlessly. However, in both HTML and Word I get a series of question marks (?????? ?? ?????) instead of Russian words. I tried to change the font and/or encoding settings in all programs and in Microsoft Explorer (and also in Netscape). Nothing helps.

(416) Cannot install onto XP as non-administrator

Installing Jot+ Notes on Windows XP (and Windows 2000/NT4) requires administrator privileges. Under XP Home, only Owner users can install software. This is not a bug.

(426) Text import resulting in invalid notefiles

The text import code is not assigning note IDs correctly, which can cause problems later on.
