King Stairs Software has released Jot+ Notes 2.3.0, a Windows 95/98/NT4 utility that brings order and structure to your notes and card files, both electronic and paper. Jot+ lets you organize the hundreds of notes that you have scattered around your home or office in a simple way, allowing you to access the information in seconds. You can run Jot+ in the background, where it's instantly available for jotting down notes, lists, quotes, and ideas.

Using a card file metaphor, Jot+ can have up to a million characters per note. The program uses rich text, allowing notes to have multiple fonts, sizes, attributes (such as bold, italics and underlining), and colors. Paragraphs can have bullets and left/center/right justification.

With its system of parent/child notes, Jot+ allows you to group your information in outline format. You can sort your notes by name or number, or access them directly using Jot+'s powerful query-based search engine.

You can import and export to and from many standard formats such as Microsoft Cardfile format, comma-delimited, rich and flat text. Full OLE Automation lets you control Jot+ information from other applications. You can mark (or lock) individual notes during group operations such as searching and replacing information. Jot+ includes password protection for sensitive data, an autodial feature that dials your telephone, an autosave feature so your data is always protected, and hyperlink support for direct access to websites, e- mail, FTP sites, and newsgroups.

Unlike cumbersome database programs, Jot+ has no "fields" and imposes no structure on your information. You can organize your information in the way that is most useful for you, making it ideal for addresses, recipes, student papers, creative writing, computer programming, business meetings, or any tasks around the home or office.

New features in Jot+ 2.3.0 include enhanced password protection, better support for network access, HTML support, and other features requested by users.
