Frequently Asked Questions

How compatible are the desktop and portable versions?

Totally compatible. Both versions can share data and configuration files. The only real difference between the two is that certain features and configuration options which are inappropriate for a portable application are disabled in myTasks Portable.

Which versions of Windows are supported?

Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2, Windows 2003, and Windows Vista. myTasks Portable may also work on Windows 98/Me, but this is not formally supported.

Do I need a special license for myTasks Portable?

NO. If you have a license for myTasks 1.x, that same license is also valid for myTasks Portable!

How do I move my existing tasks from the desktop to my portable device?

You can copy the active/archive taskfiles from the desktop to the device, or you can use the File|Insert command in myTasks Portable to import the contents of the desktop active taskfile to your portable device.

What about U3 support?

As the U3 platform appears to be unsupported by its developers, further development of a U3-specific version of myTasks Portable is on hold. A beta version is still available for those who wish to try it out, but support cannot be provided.
